Error Dolphin-028 | Most Common Fix
Error Dolphin-028 is a connectivity error specific to Ubisoft Connect (often affecting Rainbow Six Siege players). It means your Ubisoft Connect client cannot communicate with the authentication servers.
This is usually due to a cached network glitch on your PC rather than a full server outage.
Here are the proven fixes to resolve it:
1. The “IP Flush” Method (Most Common Fix)
This resets your local internet connection settings and often clears the error immediately.
-
Close Ubisoft Connect completely.
-
Open the Command Prompt (search for
cmdin Windows). -
Type the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:
-
ipconfig /release(You will briefly lose internet) -
ipconfig /renew(Internet will come back) -
ipconfig /flushdns
-
-
Restart your computer and launch Ubisoft Connect as Administrator.
2. Clear the Ubisoft Cache
If the network reset didn’t work, your launcher is likely holding onto “bad” data.
-
Close Ubisoft Connect. Check the taskbar (bottom right) to ensure it isn’t running in the background.
-
Navigate to your Ubisoft installation folder (usually:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher). -
Delete the folder named
cache. -
Optional but recommended: Also delete the
logsfolder. -
Relaunch the client. It will prompt you to log in again.
3. The “Mobile Hotspot” Workaround
If the above fail, your ISP might be temporarily struggling to route to Ubisoft’s servers.
-
Disconnect your PC from your home Wi-Fi/Ethernet.
-
Turn on your Phone’s Mobile Hotspot.
-
Connect your PC to the hotspot.
-
Launch Ubisoft Connect and log in.
-
Once you are successfully logged in, you can reconnect to your normal home Wi-Fi/Ethernet without closing the launcher.
Note:
If none of these work, check the official Ubisoft Service Status page. If the servers are marked as “Degraded” or “Maintenance,” you simply have to wait for them to fix it on their end.
